A floating jungle, KALIMANTAN was composed as a triptych during hot summer days in 2002.

I recorded a set of soundclips (electric piano, drones, strings, processed insect recordings…) and made three different mixes out of these elements. Each album was burnt as a single-copy CD, which I gave to three close friends.

Thirteen years later, here is the ultimate version, composed out of the very same elements as the three 2002 versions, but also with large sections of these three early mixes.

And year after year, the mangrove waters rise and and rise until they engulf the forest, and then recede...
